6 Working instructions
Start the unit with the main switch. "CAST" is shown in the display when the casting chamber is open.
When the lid is closed, an acoustic signal can be heard, "DOOR" is shown in the display and the unit
does not heat up.
6.1 Selection of the program
When the unit is switched on, the casting program is displayed that was used last. By pressing the keys
or
any program can be selected. The "Vorwärmen (preheating)" control lamp flashes. In order to
achieve uniform distribution of heat in the casting chamber, the thermocouple heats up the casting cham-
ber to 1300 °C and then cools down to the adjusted starting temperature (Starting °C). The necessary
preheating time which depends on the programmed starting temperature requires approx. 5 – 10 min.
When the preheating process is completed, the control lamps of the preheating and the starting tempe-
rature are lit. An acoustic signal can be heard.
6.2 Melting and casting
Place the crucible recommended for the alloy (graphite or ceramic) into the furnace chamber, fill the alloy
into the crucible and lock the crucible securing device.
Only original crucibles must be used for the Prestomat compact
(see item 2.2 Available accessories).
Press the "Schmelzen (melting)" key. Wait until the melting temperature has been reached and the alloy
has been melted completely. If the preprogrammed melting temperature is insufficient, it can be increased
