Precaution and safety rules.
Read and preserve these operating instructions.
Never run the filter when there are people in the pool.
The filter has been projected and realized for above ground fresh water domestic pools.
Do not submerge the filter in water.
The filter must be located not less than 3.5 [m] from the edge of the pool.
Filters equipped with a transformer (12 [V]) may be placed at the edge of the pool but electrical connections of the transformer must be at least 3.5 [m] from the edge of
the pool.
Make sure the electrical plant complies with international prescriptions in force.
Check whether the product is compatible with the characteristics of your electrical plant.
Never pull the electrical cable. If the cable is damaged, the product must be demolished.
The pump cable must be connected to the power supply by a 30 [mA] differential switch.
Do not let children play with the appliance, e.g. do not allow them to sit in the drawers or swing on the door. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given initial supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
2.
Product description and application field.
Series SPF filters are the most efficient on the market at present for cleaning and maintaining the water of your domestic pool thanks to the use of an effective sand filter
system. They are used in pools for children as well as above ground professional pools.
They are extremely compact, equipped with a pump able to circulate the pool water and have a simple cleaning system.
Follow these instructions carefully and you will be using the filter in compliace with the most basic safety rules.
Remember always and in any case that all operations must be carried out after having disconnected the plug and that the pump must not run without water.
2.1.
Application limits.
Maximum water temperature: 35 [°C].
Sand type: 0,4-0,8 [mm].
3.
Use and adjustement.
3.1.
Positioning.
Before installing the filter decide where it is to be positioned as the filter is difficult to move when it is filled with sand.
The filter must be at least 3.5 [m] far from the edge of the pool.
Filters equipped with a transformer (12 [V]) may be positioned on the edge of the pool but electrical connections of the transformer must be at least 3.5 [m] from the edge of
the pool.

3.3.
Filter installation.
3.3.1.
Drain tap installation.
Install the supplied water drain tap as indicated in Fig. 3.
The parts that make up the drain tap are:
A.
The tap body.
B.
Pair of tap gaskets. One must be applied inside the filter and one on the outside wall of the container.
C.
Ring nut for fastening.
D.
Gasket to apply on the plug.
E.
Plug.
Caution: Do not fasten the Ring Nut (C) too tightly onto the Tap Body (A) as this could irreparably damage the drain tap.
3.3.2.
Installation of the other components.
After having installed the drain tap on the container make sure the gaskets have been correctly applied then install the filter.
Insert the tube with the diffuser in the filter diagonally as shown in Fig. 4. Then install the glow plugs on the diffuser; insert them and tighten them as indicated in Fig. 5.
Fill the filter with water up to the first line on the container Fig. 6. Place the diffuser with the tube on the bottom of the container.
This procedure gives stability to the filter.
Place the special funnel on the mouth of the container. Make sue the tube is adequately covered and pour quartz sand inside the container (not supplied) Fig. 7.
Once the container has been filled with sand to the top line (about 2/3 of the container height) remove the funnel.
Apply the multifunction unit by inserting it from under the soft gasket Fig. 8.
Clean the container mouth carefully as indicated in Fig. 9; position the multifunction unit so that the tube enters in the centre hole of the multifunction unit.
Fasten the multifunction unit to the container with the supplied flange Fig. 10. Use a screw driver to tighten the screws.
Apply Teflon tape onto the drain cocks of the multifunction unit and then position the exchange tube (g) as indicated in Fig. 11 for filtration. Fasten with the supplied clamps.
You have now completed your sand filter.
3.4.
Connections to the pool.
In the drawings in Fig. 12 there are various solutions regarding the connection of the filter to the pool in the filtration mode.
The first drawing shows a direct connection system, the second shows connections with the use of a skimmer while the third shows the connection tubes passed over the
edge of the pool.
3.5.
Filling up the pool.
If you have connected the tube correctly you can fill up the pool.
3.6.
Starting up the plant
Before activating the filter, make sure it is placed out of the pool, under the water level and that it is activated. Check that all unions and joints are fastened tightly. The water
must get to the pump by falling naturally. If you do not have a skimmer use a filter having delivery tubes and suction over the pool and remember to follow the activation
procedure for the pump that follows.
3.6.1.
Pump activation instructions.
If you have connected the filter with the connection tubes over the pool edge you must follow this procedure to start up the filter.
Take suction tube A, Fig. 13 and place it over the edge of the pool. Place the delivery tube B, Fig. 13, vertically. Now connect the delivery tube B to a garden hose and hold
the tube and the hose upwards. When water starts coming out of the suction tube (A), submerge the tube and the hose. Keep the water running.
Close the watering tube of the filter and activate the filter by switching on the electricity.
Caution: Watering hoses directly connected to the water supply must be used carefully as they have high pressure inside. Open the tap with moderation.
