The 12" Disc Sander features welded steel frame con-
struction and a solid aluminum table surface to insure
durability. The Sander is equipped with a mitre gauge to
perform many different operations.
WARNING
Operating of any power tool can result in foreign objects
being thrown into the eyes, which can result in severe
eye damage. Always wear safety goggles complying with
United States ANSI Z87.1 before commencing power tool
operation.
CAUTION: Always observe the following safety
precautions:

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

• When adjusting or replacing any parts on the tool, turn
switch OFF and unplug the power cord.
• Make sure all moving parts are free and clear of any
interference.
• Make sure all guards are properly attached and
fastened in position.
• Make sure all fasteners are tight and have not vibrated
loose.
• Always wear eye protection or face shield.
• Test operation by hands for clearance and adjust if
necessary. Do this only when the power is off.
• Keep maximum clearance of 1/16" between table and
sanding disc.
• The abrasive disc should not be torn or loose.
• Hold the workpiece firmly while sanding.
• Do not sand workpieces that are too small to be
secured on the table.
• Keep your hands clear of any moving parts.
• Avoid kickback of the workpiece by sanding in
accordance with the directional arrows.
• Make sure workpiece is well supported by table during
operation. When sanding a large workpiece, provide
additional support at the table height.
• Do not attempt to stall motor or reduce speed. Do not
force the work into the abrasive surface.
• Never use the machine for wet sanding, which can
result in hazard of electrical shock.
• Replace abrasives when they become worn or glazed.

ON/OFF SWITCH

Refer to Figure 6.
The ON/OFF switch is located on the top of the motor. To
turn the machine ON, pull the switch to the up position. To
turn the machine OFF, push the switch to the down posi-
tion.
NOTE: When the machine is not in use, the machine
should be locked in the "OFF" position to prevent unau-
thorized use.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
• To lock the machine, turn the switch to "OFF" position.
Pull the key out. The switch cannot be turned on without
the key.
• If the key is removed when the switch is at the "ON"
position, the switch can be turned off but cannot be
turned on again.
• To unlock, place the key into the slot on switch unit until
it snaps.

TABLE TILT ADJUSTMENT
WARNING
Turn the switch to OFF position and disconnect the ma-
chine from power source.
• Set table to 0°.
• Place a square on the table with one end of the square
against the disc. If the table is not square to the disc,
proceed the following steps:
• Loosen the screw (A) on the right end of the table.
• Loosen 2 screws (C and F) on the left end of the table.
• Adjust the table to horizontal position.
• Tighten screw A and screw C and F.
• Set the pointer (E) to 0° by adjusting the screw (D).

NOTE: Table locking handle (B) is spring-loaded and can
be repositioned on the stud by pulling out the handle and
repositioning it on the nut.
