4.5.2. Adjusting the parking brakes
•
Move the braking system to a position that offers a safe braking
effect in all driving situations and can be actuated.
•
To adjust the gap, undo the two socket screws on the brake bracket
(Fig. 14).
•
Then push the brake system to the correct position along the
bracket.
•
Finally re-tighten the two socket screws.
•
Make sure that the brakes click into place when operating the lever
and that they don't snap back.

Never use the brake lever as a support - e.g. when
transferring or standing up -, otherwise there is a
risk of tipping over and falling! The lever could
break off!
The parking brake - with or without brake lever
extension - only works on one drive wheel and
must therefore always be used on both sides!
Adjusting the brakes must only be carried out by
trained personnel. Please bear in mind that if
the brakes are set incorrectly this can have life-
threatening consequences.

4.5.3. Operating the parking brake
with the brake lever extension
The procedure for operating the parking brake with the brake lever
extension is the same as operating the parking brake (see Chapter
4.5.1).
Folding the brake lever extension in
•
The brake lever can be folded in when driving or transferring to the
side.
•
Pull the plastic grip out of the lever (Fig. 15).
•
Fold the plastic grip down (Fig. 16.
•
Before setting off, the brake must returned to its operational
position by following the procedure in reverse order.

4.6. One-hand brake (optional)
Using the one-hand brake, you have a parking brake which you can
apply to both drive wheels using a brake lever.
4.6.1. Drum brake (optional)
As an option, the wheelchair can be fitted with a drum brake which
can only be operated by an attendant using the brake lever on the
push handles.
