The tow bar may only be attached to the
designated towing lugs of the vehicle. Please read
the operating instructions of both vehicles!
Only towing lugs and tow bars that are in a flawless condition
may be used!
The connection between the towing lugs and the towing hooks
of the tow bar should have as little play as possible.
Ensure that there is as little play as possible between the lug
and the towing device.
When towing vehicles with an automatic transmis-
sion, always observe the operating instructions by
the manufacturer of the vehicle with respect to the
towing procedure.
Read the vehicle operating instructions or ask a
specialist workshop whether the towing lugs are
suitable for towing with a tow bar.
Drive carefully, especially when accelerating, braking and
navigating bends.
Towing is only allowed at a low speed. Always drive
appropriately for the prevailing traffic conditions. For reasons
of safety, never exceed a speed of 50 km/h. even if the roads
are clear.
Act with caution every time the vehicle starts moving or brakes.
The tow bar and the towing lugs are not able to reliably absorb
the forces exerted during emergency braking.
The German road traffic regulations (StVO) must be observed
when towing. Please always observe the valid national traffic
regulation relating to towing in the respective country. In case
of doubt, always ask at the next police station!
The tow bar may not be dismantled. Every attempt to modify or
repair this device will invalidate the guarantee.
The parts of the vehicle to which the tow bar need to be
attached during towing must be sufficiently strong.

5. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Preparation

Before assembling or mounting the tow bar,
all other road users must be warned about the
defective vehicle! Observe all safety information
provided at the start of the operating instructions.
Connecting the vehicles
First, position the towing vehicle and the vehic-
le that is to be towed so that they are about one
meter apart. Secure both vehicles to prevent them
from rolling away. There is a risk of becoming
trapped between the vehicles. To ensure that the
forces created during acceleration and braking are
exerted longitudinally on the tow bar, the vehicles
must stand and later be driven so that the towing
lugs are opposite one another and the tow bar is
straight and not at a slant between the vehicles; it
may be necessary to drive at an offset. To attach the
tow bar, the towing lugs of the vehicles made need
to be prepared first; please follow the instructions
of the respective manufacturer. Do not unfold the
tow bar yet! Now open the connecting hook (1) of
the tow bar. To do this, push the red pipe sleeve
at the end of the bar of the respective hook back
against the spring. Now hook in the open hook
from above, never from below, into the towing lug
and push the red pipe sleeve (2) forwards again.
Ensure that the hook (1) really closes completely.
Proceed in the same way as for the first hook with
the second hook on the other vehicle. The tow bar
unfolds automatically when the towing vehicle
starts, and the hinges are also locked into position
automatically. After starting, stop again immedi-
ately and check that the hinged joints (3) and (4)
have all locked into position. The red spring-moun-
ted spline ends (5) and (6) must be completely co-
vered up to the stopper. Strictly observe the safety
information provided at the start of these instruc-
tions during towing.
Disconnecting the vehicles
After towing, park the vehicles so that there is no
strain on the tow bar. Secure both vehicles to pre-
vent them from rolling away. Only after this may
the hooks of the two bar (1) and (7) be released
from the towing lugs. To this end, push back the
red spline end of the tow bar (2) and (8) on the
side of the respective hook and pull the hook out
of the lug. The tow bar can now be folded up again
by pulling back the middle red spline ends (5) and
(6) that blocked the hinges during towing. Always
store the tow bar with these operating instructions
in the supplied transport bag.
