10. Commissioning

Search

There are two different ways of searching for a position within a track.
The JOG wheel (24) can be used to start quick search in pause or playback mode.
• Select the function SEARCH with the button JOG MODE (7). The SEARCH LED must be lit.
• Turn the JOG wheel (24) to the right to start fast forwarding.
• Turn the JOG wheel (24) to the left to start rewinding.
The JOG wheel (24) serves to exactly locate a specific position in a track. In pause mode, it is very easy to set the
start of the beat precisely with the rotary wheel, since the track is scanned in very small steps (frame) and the
search steps can be heard when turning the JOG wheel (24).
• Switch the device to pause mode.
• Select the function NORMAL with the button JOG MODE (7). The SEARCH LED and SCRATCH LED must
not be lit.
• In order to search forwards, turn the wheel to the right. In order to search backwards, turn the wheel to the left.
In pause mode, the CD player switches to "stutter mode" when the JOG wheel (24) is turned.

CUE Function

You can select the starting point for playback using the CUE-function.
The advantage of this function is that e.g. mute time at the start of a track is not played back and that
there are therefore no breaks after starting the playback.
Automatic setting of the CUE mark
The starting point is set automatically (AUTO CUE). The device must be in AUTO-CUE mode.
• Select the AUTO CUE function with the SINGLE button (21) (SINGLE playback). The display shows "Auto-
CUE".
• The device automatically resumes at the position of the selected track at which music starts after each new
track selection.
Checking the CUE mark
• During playback, push the CUE button (13).
• The device returns to the CUE mark and pauses.
• Hold down the CUE button (13).
• The music is played from the CUE mark as long as you hold down the CUE (13) button.
• When the button is released, the CD player returns to the CUE mark and pauses.
