Configuration
The steute ethernet Gateway is provided with a website for the con-
figuration of:
- Network settings and
- Teaching in of wireless switches/transmitters, as well as
- A log window for the logging of active wireless telegrams.
The website can be opened using any flash enabled internet browser.
Open website
Before opening the website, it must be guaranteed that the configurat-
ing computer and the wireless Gateway have the same IP address
range. Thus, for the initial installation, a point-to-point connection is
recommended where both participants are in address range:
192.168.0.xxx.
Attention! Gateway and PC must not have the same IP address!
In order to open the website, enter either
a) the IP address of the wireless gateway (e.g. http://192.168.0.123)
or
b) the name of the wireless gateway (http://steuterf/) in the browser.
A Login page opens. Fill in the
Username: »steute« and the
Password: »steute123« (default)
In order to protect the wireless gateway from illegal access, the pass-
word can be changed. The password is reset by restoring the device
configuration.

Device configuration

In the tab »Device Configuration«, the fixed IP, the sub-network mask
and the gateway address can be set or the definition of a dynamic IP
via DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) can be activated. The
local port number is used as source port for the transmission of UDP
packages. When adopting the new setting using the »Save« button, the
data are saved in the internal EEPROM and a restart of the wireless
gateway is processed. The assignment of a fixed IP is generally carried
out by the network administrator.
Teaching in and configuration of the wireless sensor/switch
(line 01 – 40)
The tab »Wireless Sensor Configuration« shows an overview of the 40
wireless transmitters that can be taught in. In delivery status or after
reset to factory settings, the list is empty. In order to teach in a wire-
less sensor/switch, either the check mark is set in the field »Learn
Mode Active« or an ID is directly filled in if known. The filling in of the
ID in the field »Sensor ID (Manual adding)« must be carried out in hex-
adecimal format, e.g. sWave ® ID: »3D937B«. It is saved by clicking on
the »Save Sensor ID« button. The recently saved ID can be found in the
7 / 40
