Intended purpose
protect.Pro action is a support for
partial stress relief on the lumbar
vertebrae via correction of lordosis.
Indications
All indications which require partial
stress relief of the lumbar vertebrae via
correction of lordosis, such as:
• Lower back pain (lumbago)
• Lower back pain with sciatica
• Lumbar vertebral canal stenosis
• Postural muscle imbalance in the
lumbar spine
• Spondylolisthesis
• Spondylosis
• Painful conditions of the lumbosacral
junction
• Intervertebral disc protrusion, prolapse
Contraindications
• Open wounds in the area of the
orthosis
• Respiratory diseases such as COPD
Risks / Side Effects
If the aids are too tight, this can cause
local pressure sores or constriction of
blood vessels or nerves. Therefore you
should consult the doctor treating you
before you use it if the following
circumstances apply to you:
• Condition or injury of the skin in the
area of application, particularly with
infectious indications (excessive heat,
swelling or reddening)
• Paraesthesia and circulatory disorders
(e.g. as seen in diabetes, varicose veins)
• Lymph drainage disorders – equally,
swelling of soft tissue adjacent to the
area of application which is not related
to a condition
When wearing snug-fitting aids, this can
result in localised skin inflammation or
irritation that is due to mechanical
irritation of the skin (particularly in
conjunction with sweating) or due to the
composition of the material.
Intended patient groups
Healthcare professionals should provide
care to the adults and children, applying
the available information on the
measurements/sizes and necessary
functions/indications and in line with
the information provided by the
manufacturer, and acting under their
own responsibility.
Note on wearing
In theory, the orthosis can be worn all
day long. However, the length of time
you wear it should depend on your
needs. Remove the orthosis during long
periods of rest (e.g. sitting down or
driving for a long time, sleep).
The product is not permitted for the use
in direct contact with skin, it should only
be worn over a thin t-shirt or undershirt.
Fitting instructions
• Before putting on the orthosis, please
loosen the straps so that it can be put
on without pulling. Wrap the orthosis
around your abdomen and make sure
it it positioned on the centre of your
back. (fig. 1)
• Afterwards, place the left lock side on
your stomach and then pull the right
lock side far enough over the left side
that it is possible to fasten. (fig. 2+3)
• Now, pull both tension bands forward
at the same time. (fig. 4) You can adjust
the tightness to suit your own
requirements and manage your pain
levels.
• First, fasten the left tension band and
then the right. (fig. 5+6)
• The orthosis is on properly when the
