3.3 Liability Exclusion
Installation and cartridge exchanges must be performed precisely in accordance with the instructions
in this manual. BRITA shall not be held liable for any damage, including subsequent damage, arising
from the incorrect installation or use of the product.
3.4 Speciic Safety Information
Water used as intake water for the PURITY C water ilter system must be of drinking water
quality. The BRITA water ilter system is only suitable for cold water use within the water
intake temperature range stated in Chapter 9.
If there are oficial instructions to boil tap water, the ilter system must be decommissioned.
When the requirement to boil water comes to an end, the ilter cartridge must be replaced
and the connections cleaned.
For hygiene reasons, the ilter material of the cartridge is subjected to a special treatment
with silver. A small quantity of silver, which is harmless to health, may be released into the
water. This is in compliance with the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommendations
for drinking water.
It is generally recommended to boil tap water for certain groups of people (e.g. people
with weakened immune systems, babies). This also applies to iltered water.
Note for people with kidney disease or dialysis patients: During the ilter process the
potassium levels may increase slightly. If you suffer from kidney disease and/or have to
stick to a special potassium diet, we recommend you consult your doctor beforehand.
The water iltrate is classiied in Category 2 according to EN 1717.
BRITA recommends not to decommission the ilter system for long periods. If the BRITA
PURITY C ilter system is not used for several days, we recommend that the ilter system
be lushed with the volume of water indicated in the table below.
