Metrology test instructions (only for trained specialists)

Metrology tests must be carried out at least once every two years by the fol-
lowing bodies or individuals:
– the manufacturer
– the authority responsible for metrology
– individuals meeting the requirements of the Medicinal Products Operator
Decree.
A) Function test
Function tests of the measuring system can only be performed on a
human subject or a suitable simulator.
B) Test of pressure circuit tightness and pressure display deviation
N.B.
a) if pressure exceeds 320 mmHg in measuring mode, the quick-release
valve responds and opens the pressure circuit. If pressure exceeds 320
mmHg in test mode, the results display flashes.
b) A pump ball must also be introduced into the pressure circuit for the tests.
Test
1.) Disconnect the power pack.
2.) Press and hold both individual start buttons and connect the power pack.
3.) Release the individual start buttons.
The system is now in test mode, and the current pressure is displayed in
the SYS and DIA fields.
4.) Carry out the pressure display deviation test and pressure circuit tight-
ness test in the usual way, taking care to ensure that the cuff set-up time
is at least 30 seconds.
Maximum difference left-right of pressure indication: ± 1 mmHg.
5.) Press the STOP button to switch off the measuring system.
