controller AIR1-BE Eco (Controller AIR1-BE Touch see separate manual):
Selected functions
"Extended overview" - Overview page with system information
Inputs/outputs
Signals to all control inputs/outputs can be checked (not adjustable)
Manual/Auto (function test)
Individual functions, such as a fan or damper, can be manually controlled (see section Manual/Auto (function test) in the
service section of these installation and operating instructions).

Configuration

"Configuration" - Same function as the commissioning assistant with extended scope and no sequenced query (see
Commissioning assistant section in the Commissioning section).
Settings other than those specified in this manual are not recommended!
Settings
"Professional settings" - Extensive modifications to the controller can be carried out in the settings, e.g. alarm changes.
This function may only be used by specialist personnel.
Settings other than those specified in this manual are not recommended.
4 .1

Functions

4 .1 .1 Heat exchanger frost protection

A pre-heater is essential to prevent the freezing of the cross counterflow heat exchanger! The AIR1 XC units are equip-
ped with an electrical pre-heater as standard. This pre-heater is variably controlled to reduce energy consumption.
The pre-heater is equipped with two safety temperature limiters. The safety temperature limiters "Auto reset" (trigger
temp. +70 °C) and "Manual reset" (trigger temp. +90 °C) are connected in series. As soon as a safety temperature
limiter is triggered, the pre-heater will be disconnected from the power supply and an error will be displayed on the
controller.
- Activate/deactivate pre-heater
The pre-heater can be activated/deactivated by the user/installer (Commissioning see section 2.3).
The pre-heater will only work if the supply air fan is running and there are no errors. If the unit is switched to standby
or off mode, the pre-heater will immediately deactivate. The supply air fan will stop 90 seconds after the deactivation
of the pre-heater.
The ventilation units are equipped with multi-stage heat exchanger frost protection:
Stage 1
Activation and control of pre-heater as soon as the outside air temperature is lower than -4 °C and the extract air tem-
perature is lower than 0 °C. The pre-heater will also operate until an extract air temperature of + 4 °C is reached. If the
pre-heater runs with an output of 100 % for more than 3 minutes, frost protection stage 2 will activate.
Stage 2
Reduction of air volume flow up to 50 % (pressure reduction up to 25 %) after the pre-heater has been running with an
output of 100 % for more than 3 minutes. If the pre-heater runs with an output of 100 % for more than 5 minutes, frost
protection stage 3 and the final stage will activate.
Stage 3
Deactivation of the ventilation unit (close external dampers).
Ventilation unit restart
The automatic ventilation unit restart will only take place if either the outside air temperature is higher than -3 °C or the
extract air temperature is higher than +4 °C.
