1. Important Notes
The ventilator may only be operated using the
voltage stated on the rating plate.
When carrying out electrical connection and in-
stallation or appliances, the valid regulations, in
particular the relevant sections of DIN VDE
0100, must be observed.
Electrical connection as well as repair work
may only be carried out by electricians or other
suitable qualified staff.
The maximum permissible temperature of the
flow medium unless otherwise specified in the
valid catalogue is +40°C.
For capacitor motors, the running capacitor is
located in the attached terminal box.
Threephase motors must be fitted with an over-
load protection device.
The fan may only be put into service when the
accidental impeller contact protection is pro-
vided in accordance with DIN EN 294, for exam-
ple using the MAICO louvre shutter AS.. or RS..
A device to disconnect the fan from the mains
with a contact gap of at least 3 mm between
each pole must be provided.
Adequate supply air must be provided for oper-
ation in deaerated rooms with chimney-depen-
dent fireplaces.
AC motors with thermal overload protection are
used as standard.
– The motor is automatically switched off in
case of thermal overload and back on again
after cooling.
– Ascertain the cause of the fault and remedy.
The fan construction is in compliance with the
safety requirements of the VDE within
framework of equipment safety legislation
with the valid provisions of the applicable EC
Directives.
2. Preparing the wall break-through
Break out a diameter appr. 1–2 cm greater than the
nominal size of the fan.
3. Mounting the fan
For "flush mounting" electrical connection, thread
the connecting cable through the rubber grommet
at the top of the fan sleeve.
Firmly plaster the fan into the hole in the masonry,
with the flare of the sleeve facing the inside of the
wall.
Cover the intake opening using the provided inter-
nal grille. Suitable fastening hardware must provid-
ed by the user.
4. Mounting the terminal box
Only with capacitor motors
Insert the mains conductor optionally from below
or from the side.
– Break out the cable opening and insert the plas-
tic grommet.

6. Speed control
Frequency converters with the following limiting
values can also be used to control speed:
1) U peak < 1000 V
2) du/dt

If these values cannot be adhered to, the frequen-
cy converters must be equipped with sine filters.
