4.2 Maximum load

The load on the MPM is determined by the ionisation equipment connected and the shielded
connecting cable used. The capacitive load of the equipment and cables must be added
together in order to calculate the total load of the MPM.
Note:
- The maximum output current of the MPM is 3 mA.
- The maximum capacitive load of the MPM is 1500 pF.

When the ion balance option is used (only with the MPM-xxR), the maximum
capacitive load of the MPM is lower in some cases than 1500 pF, see also
table 1.

For example, a combination of two anti-static bars on one MPM:
♦ One MEB anti-static bar with an effective length of 2 metres and connected with a
3-metre shielded high voltage cable:
♦ One P-Sh-N anti-static bar with an effective length of 3 metres and connected with a
4-metre shielded high voltage cable:
♦ The power unit's total load will then be: 525 + 800 = 1325 pF
