4. Preparing for the measurement
Inserting the batteries
• Remove the battery compartment lid
on the rear of the device.
• Insert four 1.5 V AA (alkaline type
LR06) batteries. Make sure that the
batteries are inserted the correct way
round. Do not use rechargeable bat-
teries.
• Close the battery compartment lid again carefully.
If the low battery indicator is flashing, it is no longer possible
to take measurements and all batteries must be replaced.
Once the batteries have been removed from the unit, the time
must be set again.
Used batteries should not be disposed of in normal household
waste. Dispose of them via your electronics retailer or your
local recycling point. You are legally obligated to do so.
note: The codes below are printed on batteries
containing harmful substances: Pb: battery con-
tains lead, Cd: battery contains cadmium,
Hg: battery contains mercury.
setting the date and time
It is essential to set the date and time. Otherwise, you will not
be able to save your measured values correctly with a date and
time and access them again later. The time is displayed in the
24-hour format.
If you press and hold the memory button M you can set the
values more quickly.
To set the date and time, proceed as follows:
• Press and hold the sET button for 5 seconds.
• The year display will start to flash. Set the year using the
memory button M and confirm with the sET button.
• Set the month, day, hour and minute and confirm each set-
ting with the sET button.
5. Measuring blood pressure
Attaching the cuff
Place the cuff on to the bare left
upper arm. The circulation of the
arm must not be hindered by tight
clothing or similar.
The cuff must be placed on the upper
arm so that the bottom edge is
positioned 2 – 3 cm above the elbow
and over the artery. The line points to
the centre of the palm.
