Read this manual carefully and keep it safe in a clean, easily ac-
cessible place for future reference.
These instructions for use contain important instructions and
warnings.
Users must have read and understood them before assembling
the system, connecting it to the electricity supply or putting it
into operation.
No warranty cover will be granted in the event of damage arising
from the failure to comply with these instructions, and the manu-
facturer will not accept any liability.

warning
Zenit does not accept responsibility for damage to or malfunctions of
the lifting station if it is equipped with pumps other than those supplied
by Zenit itself.

2. Inspection on delivery
Before delivery, the lifting station has been visually inspected to en-
sure that all components and parts are correctly packaged to enable
them to reach their destination without damage.
On delivery, check that the polyethylene tank is intact and the unit is
free from damage. Also check that the articles received conform to the
order specifications.
3. Safety
•
System installation, use and maintenance procedures must only be
carried out by skilled, authorised staff, working in compliance with
the relevant legal requirements on health, safety and assistance.
•
The potential risks related to lifting stations must not be undere-
stimated, especially during cleaning and maintenance, due to the
faecal substances which build up inside them. Take suitable pre-
cautions to deal with any gases, such as methane and hydrogen
sulphide, which may have formed. ENSURE that the tank has been
properly ventilated before starting work;
•
Wear regulation personal protection equipment during maintenance
work. A mask to protect the respiratory system, protective goggles
enclosed at the sides, safety gloves, overalls and safety footwe-
ar must be worn. Once the job is finished, take off the protective
clothing for washing or disposal and take a thorough wash.
•
The inside of the lifting station must only be accessed by skilled staff
trained to work in enclosed environments, wearing the appropriate
safety equipment. Connect staff to safety ropes enabling them to
reascend quickly in the event of an emergency.
•
Never do maintenance work on a lifting station when alone.
•
Before starting any job, disconnect the lifting station by switching off
the electricity supply and shutting the intake and outlet gate valves.
•
Keep naked lights and hot objects well away from the lifting sta-
tion.
•
Never leave the top cover open and unattended; during maintenan-
ce work, fence off the working area appropriately to prevent falls.
•
Always close the top cover when leaving the lifting station.
•
Never use torches inside or around the chamber unless of guaran-
teed safety type, to ensure that they will not generate hazardous
sparks or cause electrocution if they fall into the liquid.
•
The system and equipment must not be used for purposes other
than those for which they were designed.
4. Product description
The BOX PRO is a polyethylene station designed to collect and lift
wastewater destined for the sewer in cases where gravity drainage is
not possible.
It is used for the disposal of civil, residential and industrial wastewaters
containing solids and faecal substances.
Explosive, fibrous or colloidal substances, or chemically aggressive
and corrosive liquids, cannot be handled unless previously agreed with
Zenit.
The BOX PRO is not suitable for the storage and lifting of drinking
water.

6. Site design
Careful initial planning is important and will save time and effort in later
stages.
It is therefore important to bear the following points in mind:
1. The lifting station is generally installed below ground level. However,
the station should be accessible for maintenance.
2. Make sure that there is sufficient gradient on the wastewater intake
pipeline.
3. Check that the difference in height between the bottom of the tank
and the lowest point on the intake pipeline is sufficient to ensure sa-
tisfactory filling. (FIG. 2) In a standard installation, a difference of at
least 1000 mm is recommended. In the event of unusual installation
conditions, contact the Customer Service.
4. Ensure that the intake and outlet pipelines are buried to sufficient
depth as appropriate for the type of installation zone and following
the manufacturer's recommendations, to avoid problems with extre-
me temperatures.
5. Check that the electricity supply to the pumps is correct and that the
length and cross-section of the power supply cable are satisfactory,
to avoid excessive loss of power.
7. Roads and access points
If the lifting station is in a transit point, the concrete platform above it
and the cover of the access hole in the top must be strong enough to
withstand the required load.
The installation must be designed so that the tank itself does not have
to support any vertical loads and serves purely as a container.
The load must be borne by the enclosing system and the top platform
resting on the concrete structure that surrounds the tank (FIG. 3).
Correct preparation of the structure is therefore essential.
The standard enclosing system is suitable for pedestrian traffic, but a
different type of covering structure is needed to meet any additional
load requirements.
Various types of covering structure are also available to match the
finish of the surrounding paving.
8. Lifting and handling
The product must be lifted and handled with suitable mechanical
equipment (crane, hoist, etc.) (FIG. 4) when the tank is empty only.
Make a hole of max. Ø30mm in each of the two top fins with a core
drill (FIG. 4A);
Fit a certified hook or shackle into each hole (FIG. 4B-C);
Fit a sling or chain of suitable size for the weight of the product into the
shackle (FIG. 4D).
Under no circumstances must the unit be lifted by means of the pipe-
lines or units.
!
warning
The tank is in high-strength polyethylene but care must be taken to
avoid possible structural damage from collisions with pointed objects
or excessive pressure.
Any structural damage caused to the lifting station caused as descri-
bed above will cause the loss of warranty cover.
9. Installation
The following personnel are required for correct installation:
•
a civil engineer, to oversee the excavation work, positioning of the
lifting station and its connection to the drainage system;
•
an electrician, to make the electrical connections to the pumps and
