Using the
Volume Pedal Feature
Use a TS (Tip-Sleeve) 1/4" cable to connect a guitar, keyboard, or other
device to the Alesis F2's VOLUME INPUT.
Use a second TS (Tip- Sleeve) 1/4" cable to connect the F2's
VOLUME OUTPUT jack to the destination device (most likely an
amplifier, mixing board, or recording interface).
Calibrating the
Volume Pedal
Set the minimum signal level—the quietest sound that will be heard
when the pedal is all the way back—using the RANGE knob. The F2's
RANGE control allows you to decide whether you want to completely
mute your instrument's ouput when the pedal is all the way back or
whether, instead, you want to allow some of your signal to pass
through.
Allowing some signal to pass even when the pedal is all the way back
makes it easier to have different levels for lead and chorus or to create
tremolo effects. It can also enhance your realism and control when
playing certain synthesized and sampled instruments.
