A standard announcement is already saved for every operating type at the
delivery stage. Therefore the answering machine is immediately operatio-
nal. At ˆAnswer and record˜ and reaching of the maximum recording capa-
city the device will automatically switch to the operating type ˆAnswer only˜.
If the answering machine is turned off the announcement for the operating
type ˆAnswer only˜ will be played after approx. 10 rings.
You can see from the corresponding symbol on the display of the handset
that the answering machine is turned on.
When listening messages through the handset date and time of the respec-
tive message will be shown. For this reason date and time have to be set
correctly (menu: Clock/Alarm / Date & Time).
The display on the base station shows the operating state and gives you
further information:

Accessing the answering machine through the base
Through the base station you can turn the answering machine on or off,
playback and delete messages. For the respective function please refer to
the chapter ˆOperating elementsˆ in this user guide.
