Before using the BENNING CM 1, read the operating instructions carefully.
Always comply with the safety notes given in the operating instructions. This is
essential in order to avoid accidents and damage to the BENNING CM 1.

Scope of supply
The following items make up the standard BENNING CM 1 package:
3.1 One prong-type multimeter with two permanently attached safety
measuring wires, black and red (L = 0.7 m, tip Ø 4 mm) with safety
caps.
3.2 One compact protection case
3.3 One 9 V compound battery (installed in the unit when supplied)
3.4 One Operating Manual
Note on consumable parts:
The BENNING CM 1 is supplied by a 9 V compound battery (IEC 6 LR 61).

Description of tester unit
The BENNING CM 1 is a digital multimeter with fixed prongs and current
sensor.
See fig. 1:
The display and operating elements shown in fig. 1 are as follows:

When button is pressed once, the reading currently shown is retained
(this is indicated by "H" in the display , the reading is no longer
updated).

When button is pressed again, a continuous measurement appears
COM safety measurement wire (black), joint connection for voltage and
resistance measurements and continuity test.
V-Ω Safety measurement wire (red), joint connection positive for voltage
and resistance measurements and continuity test.
Prong guard - protects user from accidental contact with conductor
Open fork for inserting and gripping the single conductor containing AC
current.

General data
5.1 General data on digital multimeter
5.1.1
The digital display is designed as a 3 1/2 digit liquid-crystal indicator
with 15 mm digit height and decimal point. The highest value displayed
is 1999.
5.1.2
The polarity indication functions automatically. Contrary to the
measurement-wire definition, only one pole is indicated as "-".
5.1.3
The range overload will be displayed with "OL" or "-OL" and sometimes
with an acoustic signal.
Attention:
5.1.4
The nominal measuring rate of the digital display of the BENNING CM 1
is approx. 2.5 measurements per second.
5.1.5
The BENNING CM 1 switches off automatically after approx. 13 minutes.
It can only be switched on again by switching the rotating switch off and
on again.
