4. Safety Information
Any damages caused by the failure to comply with these operating instructions will invalidate the
warranty/guarantee. We assume no liability for any subsequent damages!
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper use or non-
compliance with the safety instructions. The warranty/guarantee will be void in such cases.
Dear Customer: The following safety information is intended not only for the protection of the device but
also for the protection of your health. Please read the following items carefully:
• For safety reasons (EC), any unauthorised conversions and/or modifications of the product are not
permitted.
• All persons operating, installing, setting up, commissioning or servicing this device must be qualified
appropriately and observe these operating instructions.
• The device was constructed according to protection class II. Only a proper mains socket (100V~ - 240V~ /
50-60Hz) of the public supply net must be used as voltage source.
• The device must be set up correctly. Please follow these operating instructions.
• Make sure that the mains cable is not squeezed, bent, damaged by sharp edges or put under mechanical
stress. Avoid excessive thermal stress on the mains cable from extreme heat or cold. Do not modify the
mains cable. Otherwise the mains cable may be damaged. A damaged mains cable can cause a deadly
electric shock.
• Do not touch the mains cable if it is damaged. First, power down the respective mains socket (e.g. via
the respective circuit breaker) and then carefully pull the mains plug from the mains socket. Never use
the product if the mains cable is damaged.
• In order to completely separate the CD player from the mains, you have to pull the mains plug out of the
mains socket. It is not sufficient to turn the CD player off with the on/off switch.
• This product is not a toy and not suitable for children. Children cannot judge the dangers involved when
handling electrical devices.
• Never pour any liquids over electrical devices or put objects filled with liquid right next to the device.
Never push any small objects, such as coils, paper clips, etc. into the CD slot. There is great danger of
fire or potentially fatal electric shock. If liquid or an object enters the interior of the device nevertheless,
first power down the respective socket (e.g. switch off circuit breaker) and then pull the mains plug
from the mains socket. Dis- connect all cables from the device. Do not operate the product anymore
afterwards, but take it to a specialist workshop.
• Never plug in or unplug the mains plug when your hands are wet.
• Make sure to provide the sufficient ventilation of the device during operation. Do not cover the enclosure.
• Do not expose the device to any high temperatures, dripping or splashing water, strong vibrations,
excess humidity, high dust concentration, easily flammable gases, vapours or solvents.
• The product must not be subjected to strong mechanical stress.
• Do not place fire sources, such as burning candles, on the device.
• Consult an expert when in doubt as to the operation, the safety or the connection of the device.
• Only use the device in moderate climate and avoid tropical environments.
