3.4 Measuring the temperature in your ear
1.
To measure the temperature in your ear, first remove the sensor

Switch on the thermometer by shortly pressing the button for ear
measurement mode

Stretch your ear canal by pulling your ear
backwards and upwards and carefully insert
the sensor into the ear. For children under
the age of 1 year, the sensor should be inser-
ted into the ear canal, while the child is lying
flat (e.g. on a bed) with the head slightly turned,
so that the ear points upward. Press and hold the
button for ear measurement mode

Release the button. After the measurement process is complete,
you will hear a beep and the body temperature will be displayed
in the display

If the measurement result is 38,0°C
(100.4°F) or higher, the indicator LED

lights up in red (= fever alarm).
In all other cases the indicator LED
