12.2 Checking the automatic chain lubrication
In order to prevent overheating and
consequential damage of the saw bar and saw
chain, check the function of the automatic chain
lubrication regularly. To this end, you must press
the saw bar tip against a smooth surface (panel,
cutting surface of a tree) and switch on the
chainsaw. If there is an increasing amount of oil,
the automatic chain lubrication works correctly. If
there is no significant amount of oil, please read
the instructions in the "Troubleshooting" chapter!
If these instructions do not help either, please
contact our service support or a qualified
workshop.
Attention! Do not touch the surface. Keep
an adequately safe distance (approx.
20cm).
12.3 Sharpening the saw chain
Effective operations with the chainsaw are only
possible if the saw chain is in good condition and
sharp. This also reduces the risk of a kickback.
Any specialist dealer will be able to grind the
saw chain. Do not try to sharpen the saw chain
on your own unless you have suitable tools and
appropriate experience.
13. CLEANING AND STORAGE
- Clean the tensioning mechanism on a regular
basis with compressed air or with a brush. Do not
use any tools for cleaning.
- Make sure that the handles are always free from
oil to ensure a safe grip.
- Clean the saw with a damp cloth and a mild
detergent, if necessary.
- If you do not use the chainsaw for a longer
period of time, you must remove the chain oil
from the tank. Submerge the saw chain and the
52
saw bar in an oil bath for a while and wrap them
in oil paper afterwards.
Attention!
- Disconnect the chainsaw from the mains prior
to cleaning.
- Never immerse the chainsaw in water or other
liquids for cleaning.
- Keep the chainsaw in a safe and dry place and
out of the reach of children.
14. NOTES REGARDING
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION /
DISPOSAL
If the power tool has reached the end of its
useful life, it must be disposed of properly. Cut
off the mains cable to avoid misuse. In order to
contribute to the protection of the environment,
do not dispose of the power tool in the
household waste but take it to a collection point
for power tools. Contact your local authorities
for more information regarding addresses and
opening hours. Packaging material and used
accessories must also be taken to appropriate
collection points.
