The unit TM-22 is a battery-operated megaphone. It
has an output power of 20 W
able signal sounds.

3 Safety Notes

This unit corresponds to all required directives of the
EU and is therefore marked with
CAUTION
Never operate the megaphone close to
anybodyʼs ears; the amplified voice or
howlback may cause hearing damage.
Never put down the unit in humid environments and

protect it against excessive heat (admissible
ambient temperature range 0 – 40 °C).
Never use the unit in the rain. Make sure that no

liquid will penetrate the unit.
For cleaning only use a soft cloth, dry or slightly

damp; never use chemicals or aggressive deter-
gents.
No guarantee claims for the unit and no liability for

any resulting personal damage or material damage
will be accepted if the unit is used for other purposes
than originally intended, if it is not correctly operated,
or not repaired in an expert way.
If the unit is to be put out of operation de-
finitively, take it to a local recycling plant for a
disposal which is not harmful to the environ-
ment.

4.1 Inserting batteries

1) Release the locking clip (1) of the battery compart-
ment and open the battery compartment cover (2).
2) Insert eight 1.5 V batteries of size AA into the bat-
tery support (8). Observe the correct polarity (see
imprint in the battery support). When sliding the bat-
tery support into the battery compartment, make
sure that its two contacts are connected to the
contact pins in the battery compartment.
3) Close the battery compartment cover and lock it
with the clip. If the unit is not used for a longer peri-
od (e. g. more than a week), the batteries should be
removed to prevent damage to the unit due to bat-
tery leakage.
Dead batteries or defective rechargeable bat-
teries do not belong in the household rubbish;
always take them to a special waste disposal
(e. g. collecting container at your retailer).
4.2 Talking
1) Set the selector switch (6) to the position 2
(OFF/TALK).
2) Keep the talk switch (4) pressed while talking into
the microphone (3). Hold the microphone as close
to your mouth as possible.
3) Adjust the desired volume with the control (5). In
case of howlback, turn back the control accordingly.
4.3 Signal sounds
1) To switch on the siren, set the selector switch (6) to
the position 1 (SIREN).
2) To switch on the whistle, set the selector switch to
the position 3 (WHISTLE).
3) To switch off the signal sounds, set the selector
switch to the position 2 (OFF/TALK).
