THE PROTOTYPE
After World War II, a number of
locomotives from the Heeresfeld-
bahn (military field railway) were
peacefully employed on various
narrow gauge railways in East
Germany. The prototype of this
model was one of three locos of
this type operating on a small line
south of Berlin. After this railway
was abandoned, the locos went
to the Baltic island of Rügen,
where numerous tourists rode on
trains behind these charming
machines.
When they were due to be scrap-
ped, two of the locos, the "Nicki
S." and the "Frank S.", were res-
cued by a railfan and operated on
a tourist railway. In 1992, the
locos were overhauled at the DR
(Deutsche Reichsbahn) shops in
Görlitz. Parts from the two locos
were combined to make one wor-
king loco, the "Nicki + Frank S."
The remaining parts were assem-
bled into a display loco.

This detailed replica features:

OPERATION
Preparation
Attach the engine to the tender:
- Plug the wiring cable from the
engine into the socket on the
tender.
- Slip the coupling hook on the
engine over the loop on the ten-
der.
Attention! The cable can be
damaged by rough handling.
Operating Modes
This model has a three-way
power control switch mounted
inside the cab (Fig. 1, 2):
Position 0: All power off
Position 1: Power to lights and
smoke generator
Position 2: Power to lights, smoke
generator and motors
(factory pre-set)
Multi-Train System
This model has two "D" gearbo-
xes and two decoder interfaces. It
can be equipped with two LGB
Multi-Train System
(55020) and a Motor Power Boo-
ster (55030) using two Decoder
Interface Cables (55026).
We strongly recommend decoder
installation by an LGB service
station. For more information,
contact your authorized LGB
retailer or an LGB service station
(see Authorized Service).
Hint: If this model is equipped
with decoders, the digital/analog
DIP switches on the loco circuit
board will be set to OFF. The DIP
switches should remain in this
setting, even if the models are
used on an analog layout.
