Installation check-up
Before operating vehicle, start the engine and check the instal-
lation:
1) For gasoline leakage in lines and fittings.
2) For overflow in carburetor.
3) For improper and loose electrical connections.

Exchange of strainer elements
Checking and changing of the strainer element are not necessary
when the existing strainer is connected as shown in Drawing =C=
; Fuel Tank —» Strainer —> Fuel Pump — Carburetor, provided that
the existing strainer operates properly.
When connection is made otherwise, as Fuel Tank —» Fuel Pump
—> Strainer —» Carburetor, check the strainer element in the
Pump at every 5,000km (3,000 miles) and change for a new
one at 10,000km (6,000 miles). Remove the fuel pump from the
vehicle. Screw off the knob beneath the pump and take out the
strainer element. Do the work with caution, because a spring is
fitted in the pump.
