The pump is designed for
12 Volt negative
earth.
Please note: even if the pump is connected to
the wrong polarity, it seems to run, but it does
not. In this case the pump has no power.
If it should nevertheless be mounted with positive earth:
Carefully insulate the pump against the (positive) body (be care-
ful with metal fuel pipes). Connect the pump to negative and the
control current to positive.
Check the fuel pressure permitted for the carburettor used. If the
pump pressure exceeds the permissible pressure in the carburet-
tor, the fuel will overflow.
In this case a fuel pressure regulator will help (see display at the
end of these installation instructions)
As a general rule: all pumps draw poorly but press almost limit-
lessly.
Therefore, if possible, you should install the pump at fuel level or
below. The higher the pump is above fuel level, the more likely
you are to expect difficulties.
