When not in use, the tool should be stored and transported in the metal case, to prevent
damage. Metal case: VAL B-TC095, size 565x410x132 mm (22.2x16.1x5.2 in.), weight
6,7 kg (14.7 lbs).
4.3) Head rotation
For ease of operation, the tool head can rotate through 180°, allowing the operator to work
in the most comfortable position.
Warning: Do not attempt to turn the head if the hydraulic circuit is pressurised.
5. BLADE REPLACEMENT
After extended use, the blades may loose their cutting edge.
Replace the blades as follows:
5.1) Lower blade
– Remove locking pin (39) and open tool head.
– Operate tool to make the lower blade (36) advance until split pins (42) are visible on
ram (88).
– Remove split pins (42 and 35) using a drift and remove the lower blade.
– Insert the new blade and secure with spring pins.
Warning: before closing the tool head release the oil pressure and retract the lower
blade, otherwise the blade may hit the lower blade edge and damage it.
5.2) Upper blade
– With the lower blade fully retracted, the tool head closed and the locking pin (39) fully
secured, hold the tool on the blade spacer (85) or (94) in a bench vice (fi g. 3).
– With an 6 mm wrench, unscrew 4 set-pins (97),remove the two holding plates (86) and
the upper blade (48) noting the position of the cutting edge bevel.
– Insert the new blade, noting the position of the cutting edge bevel.
– Fit the 2 holding plates (86) and secure with 4 screws (97).
6. RETURN TO
In the case of a breakdown contact our Area Agent who will advise you on the problem
and give you the necessary instructions on how to dispatch the tool to our nearest service
Centre; if possible, attach a copy of the Test Certifi cate supplied by Cembre together
with the tool or, if no other references are available, indicate the approximate purchase
date and the tool serial number.
