1.
Place batteries in the battery compartment or plug the scale into the wall, as indicated above.
2.
Place the scale on a hard, flat surface for accuracy and safety in use.
3.
Press the ON/OFF button to start the scale. "88:88.8" and then "0:0.0" will appear on the display, along with "LB" and "OZ" (or
"0.00 KG"). To change the units for use to KG, press the Kg/LB button once (for more information on KG, see below).
4.
Place the baby on the scale so that its weight is evenly distributed over the tray. The scale will weigh even if the baby moves.
5.
When a stable weight is calculated, a small ring along with the word "HOLD" will appear on the display and the weight of the baby
will lock, as shown on the display. NOTE: If the display shows "OVER", the weight of the baby exceeds the capacity of this scale
(see Scale Specifications on page 3).
6.
Remove the baby from the scale. The scale will continue to display the baby's weight.
7.
To return the scale to 0, press the RELEASE button, and the scale will be ready to weigh again.

The tare function allows you to place other items on the scale while weighing the baby, without affecting the baby's weight reading.
1.
Place the item you want to tare on the scale tray to weigh it.
2.
Press and release the ZERO/CLEAR button to change the weight to 0.
3.
Place the baby on the scale with the tare item and weigh normally. The scale will show only the baby's weight.
NOTE: If the scale is empty, and does not read "0", press the ZERO/CLEAR button once to return the display to zero.

The default weighing mode for this scale is in pounds. To change the units in use to KG, press the Kg/LB button once. To
change the default setting to KG only whenever the scale is turned on, please call Health o meter® Professional Technical
Support at (+1) 800-638-3722 or (+1) 708-377-0600.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Before first use and after periods of non-use, check the scale for proper operation.
Disconnect the scale from the power source, if plugged in.

This scale contains electronic parts. Use it carefully. Do not drop, kick or jump on it.
2.
Do not store near chemicals, heaters or radiators.
3.
Do not store scale on its side.
4.
To clean the scale, wipe the outside of the scale and tray with a soft cloth and mild detergent.
5.
Do not use abrasive cleaners. Do not use isopropyl alcohol, other solutions or sanitizing wipes to clean the display surface.
6.
Do not spray it with liquid. Never place the scale in the water.
7.
This scale is an extremely sensitive weighing device. Items such as clothing or towels placed or dropped on the scale may cause it to
activate. In order to prevent run down of the batteries, do not store or leave anything on the scale.
