DNCKE-.../KEC-...
2
Method of operation and use
When clamping unit type KEC-... is pressur-
ized at connection 2, the internal clamping is
unlocked against a spring. The clamping rod
(in the case of clamping cylinder type
DNCKE-... the piston rod 4 ) can then move
freely.
When the compressed air connection is
exhausted, the spring actuates the clampig
element via a mechanical force amplifier.
The clamping rod is clamped.
Clamping unit type KEC-... serves both as an individual product as well as incorpo-
rated in a cylinder of type DNC-... (in the case of clamping cylinder type DNCKE-...),
it is designed for holding round material (mostly piston rods). The following are
examples of planned applications:
–
Holding piston rods or round material during clamping, processing or handling
procedures.
–
Clamping in any desired position.
–
Avoiding stroke movements (e.g. due to fluctuations in the operating pressure
or due to leakage).
The clamping unit is not a break for dynamic continuous operation. Dynamic
breaking in the event of pressure failure is only permitted in exceptional cases.
Otherwise, wear will increase leading to complete failure of the clamping unit. The
dynamic holding force must therefore always be less than the permitted static
holding force.
Definition
In the following, the term "clamping unit"
is used for:
– the individual product type KEC-...
and
– the type DNCKE-... design
incorporated in the cylinder.
