Ensure to charge only nickel-metal-hydrit (NiMH) accu-
mulators and nickel-cadmium (NiCd) accumulators.
Never charge disposable batteries. Do not use the
charging set to charge chargeable Alkali accumulators
(RAM). Do not charge different accumulator types
simultaneously.
Never short-circuit the charging contacts or the accu-
mulators.
It is quite normal that the accumulators get warm during
the charging. Handle the recharged accumulators with
care.
Keep the device and the accumulators out of reach of
children. They are nothing to play with.
Ensure to charge only accumulators that are suited to
70mA charging current.
Operation
- Put the charging set into a 230 V socket
- Put one or two 9 V block accumulators onto the
charging contacts of the P9-2. The LED above the
charging contact indicates the charging process by
means of a red light.

- Now the accumulator is being completely charged.
Due to the fact that the P9-2 has been equipped with
a minus delta U termination, the controller inside the
charging set detects the accumulator type and adapts
the charging termination to the current accumulator.
The accumulator is always completely charged to
100%. It cannot be overcharged. When the accumu-
lator has been completely charged, the LED above the
charging shaft changes to green.
- Remove the accumulator from the P9-2 and discon-
nect the device from the distribution voltage. If you do
not remove the accumulator from the charging set,
the self-discharge will be compensated by the trickle
charge – the accumulator is always 100% full.
- In order to avoid the memory effect of NiCd accumu-
lators, the right charging contact of the P9-2 has
been equipped with a discharging function. Due to
this function the accumulator is always discharged
before it will be charged. For the activation of the dis-
charging function, press the discharge button after
putting an accumulator into the right charging con-
tact. The discharge LED gives a yellow light. When
the accumulator has been discharged, the P9-2 will
change automatically to the quick charge mode.
