Updating the firmware
Tap twice to display the current device firmware version and to update it if necessary.
Devices registered to the user will be informed about available firmware updates.

Tip: Have the firmware updated by your optician or your Eschenbach specialist dealer!
Never switch the device off and never remove the SD card from the device during an
update. Otherwise, the device could be irreparably damaged. This type of damage is not
covered by the guarantee! Power the device from the mains using the mains adapter.
This ensures that the update does not fail due to a lack of power supply.
To update the firmware please proceed as follows:
1. Connect the device USB connection f to a PC using the attached USB cable. Ensure
that the SD card s is located in the device card slot.
2. The contents of the SD card will now be displayed on the PC as a drive.
3. Use that a connected PC to open the web address which was notified to you in the
email concerning the update.
4. Download the update and save the "VD12FW.BRN" file directly to the SD card.
5. Select the "Safely remove hardware and eject media" function on the PC - you can
find the symbol for this function in the operating system taskbar. Then disconnect
the connection to the PC.
6. To start the update, go to the "Update firmware" menu and tap
If you would prefer to cancel the update and return to the previous page, tap
twice. A message will be shown on the display during the update.
The device switches itself off automatically after a successful update.
