4. OTHER INFORMATION

SATIN STITCH FOOT
The Satin stitch foot is grooved to permit dense stitching to
pass under it easily. It is most useful for sewing satin stitches
and as an alternative to the General Purpose Foot when sewing
Stretch Stitches.
Closely spaced zig-zag stitches are called satin stitches. This
is an attractive stitch used primarily for appliqueing and bar
tacking. Slightly loosen top thread tension for satin stitching.
Use a backing of tissue paper or interfacing for the sheer
materials to avoid puckering.

EVEN FEED FOOT

Even feed foot enables you to sew hard-to-sew fabrics without
sliding nor slipping and with perfect matching. Use it for sewing
leather, ultra suede, shiny fabrics (vinyls, patents and satins),
bonded fabrics, pile fabrics and matching stripes, plaids and
patterns. It is not recommended for use when stretch stitching.
To attach the even feed foot;
1. Raise needle to its highest position.
2. Raise presser bar to its highest position and guide the
even feed foot into position from rear of machine with arm
on needle clamp.
3. Attach presser bar clamp to presser bar and tighten presser
foot screw with screwdriver.
Helpful Hint: The Even Feed Foot is most useful when
used in combination with Straight Stitch for Quilting and
for matching plaid type designs.

QUILTING GUIDE

Raise the foot release lever and insert the quilting bar through
the small hole in the presser foot holder, from right to left, setting
it at the required distance (see drawing alongside).
Make the first row of stitching and then move the fabric the
required distance and then place the 'curved arm' of the bar on
the first row of stitching and use as a 'guide' for the next row.
Repeat for as many rows as you wish.
