2.3 Safety information

WARNING
Important safety instructions!

It is important for the safety of persons to observe these instructions.
-
Non-observance of the safety instructions can result in danger to health or damage to the motion
detector.
-
These instructions must always be kept in the near of the motion detector!
Standards and regulations
-
All work concerning installation, set-up and maintenance must be carried out exclusively by qualified
staff. The following regulations must be specifically observed: VDE0100, VDE 0550/0551, EN 60335
(VDE0700), EN 60598 (VDE0711), EN 60065 (VDE 0860), EN 50110 (VDE 0105) and fire prevention
regulations and accident prevention regulations (ASR A 1.7, EN 12453, EN 12978).

Therefore, the user is responsible that the device is installed and connected according to the recognised
technical regulations in the country of installation and in accordance with other regional applicable
regulations. Thereby, cable dimensioning, fusing, earthing, switching off, disconnection, insulation
monitoring and surge protection must be particularly considered.

The device must not be used as a safety component according to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC,
the Construction Product Regulation 305/2011/EU or other safety rules. Systems where additional risks
may appear require further safety devices!

With a constant distance of at least 3 cm between the human body and the planar antenna, a health
hazard due to electromagnetic fields (EMF) according to 1999/519 EC is avoided.
Operation
-
The device must only be used for the purpose intended by the manufacturer.

The operating instructions must be given to every user.
-
Never open the motion detector.
-
The specified operating temperature range must be maintained when switching on the power supply
and during the operation of the motion detector.
-
Operating the motion detector with damaged device housing is prohibited. Damaged device panes must
be replaced.
-
The extinguishing of an operating indicator lamp does not mean that the device is disconnected from
the mains and de-energised.
Parameter
-
Adjusting and checking of the parameter settings and other operating elements must only be carried out
by qualified persons.
Repair and warranaty
-
Damaged cables may only be replaced by qualified persons.

Repairs must only be carried out by the manufacturer.

Unauthorised modifications and the use of replacement parts and additional equipment not sold or
recommended by the manufacturer of the device can cause fires, electric shocks and injuries. Such
actions therefore result in an exclusion of liability and the manufacturer accepts no guarantee claims.
The manufacturer's guarantee conditions in force at the time of purchase of the device are applicable.

No liability is accepted for an unsuitable, incorrect manual or automatic parameter setting for a device or
for improper use of a device.

During operation in the immediate vicinity of foil door, suitable actions on the door system must be
taken in order to draw off static charges from the foil.
