This means that it is possible to
charge batteries without discon-
necting them from the vehicle
electrical system. (However,
exhausted batteries must be
disconnected from the vehicle
electrical system for charging.)
f Reverse polarity protection
The charging voltage remains
switched off if the polarity is
incorrect.
f Terminal short-circuit
protection
The charging voltage cannot be
switched on in the event of a ter-
minal short-circuit.
f Safety cut-out
For safety reasons the charging
voltage is switched off as soon
as a charging clip is removed
from the battery terminal.

f Check of rated battery voltage
Batteries can only be charged if
the
corresponding
selection is made. (This voltage
check is not performed when
charging exhausted batteries.)
Faults are indicated by the red indi-
cator lamp
(3).
Design
The sheet steel housing consists of
a baseplate with support feet, front
panel and cover.
The operating elements and indica-
tors are located on the front panel.
The mains connection, charging
cable entry, rating plate and holders
for the connecting cables and opera-
ting instructions are located on the
rear housing panel.
