Correct Set-Up and Connection
• The device should only be used and stored out of the reach of
children. The mains cable must also be kept out of the reach of
children. Otherwise they might use the cable to pull the device
down on themselves.
• Use the device only in closed rooms.
• Always set up the device with a clear space on all sides (at least
20 cm) and clear space above it (at least 30 cm) on a dry, fl at,
solid and heat-resistant surface.
• Maintain suffi cient clearance from other sources of heat such
as hotplates or stoves in order to avoid damage to the device.
• In order to prevent electric shocks, place the device in a location
in which the device itself, the mains cable and the plug cannot
come into contact with water or other liquids. Should the device
fall into water, switch off the power supply immediately.
• The device should never be set up or used in the vicinity of eas-
ily fl ammable materials (curtains, textiles, etc.).
• Never operate the device on a hob or in the vicinity of a gas
source.
• Only ever connect the device to a properly installed plug socket.
The plug socket must also be readily accessible after connec-
tion. The mains voltage must match the technical data of the de-
vice. Only use suitable extension cables whose technical data is
the same as that of the device.
• Make sure that the connected mains cable does not present a trip
hazard. The cable must not hang down from the surface on which
the device is placed in order to prevent the device from being
pulled down. Never pull on the mains cable to move the device.
• Position the cable in such a way that it does not become squashed
or bent and does not come into contact with hot surfaces.
• Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, strong tem-
perature fl uctuations, direct sunlight or moisture.
• Do not drop the device or allow it to be knocked violently.
• Keep the device in a dry place at temperatures of between 0
and 40 °C.
