6.5.6 RTSP transmission

„Authentification ": The default setting is „disable". Further settings are „Basic" or extend (digest).
NOTICE: If RTSP authentication is activated you have to enter a valid user name and
password at connection establishment. The used video player has to support RTSP
authentication (e.g. Realplayer 10.5).
In order to connect to a video stream you have to set the video codec to MPEG-4.
„Access name for stream 1": In order to connect enter "rtsp://<IP address>:RTSP-port /<access name 1>".
„Access name for stream 2": In order to connect enter "rtsp://<IP address>:RTSP-port /<access name 2>".
„Access name for stream 3": In order to connect enter "rtsp://<IP address>:RTSP-port /<access name 3>".
„Access name for stream 4": In order to connect enter "rtsp://<IP address>:RTSP-port /<access name 4>".
„Access name for stream 5": In order to connect enter "rtsp://<IP address>:RTSP-port /<access name 5>".
RTSP transmission with VLC player:
rtsp://192.168.0.99:10052/live.sdp
„RTSP port": The default setting is 554. You can change the range between 1025 and 65535).
„RTP port for video": The default setting is 5558. If you change the port make sure to enter an even port
number.
„RTCP port for video": This port is the result of taking the value of „RTP port for video" and increasing it by 1.
„RTP port for audio": The default setting is 5556. If you change the port make sure to enter an even port
number.
„RTCP port for audio": This port is the result of taking the value of „RTP port for audio" and increasing it by 1.

6.5.7 Multicast transmission

Multicast transmission describes a communication from a single point to a group. The advantage is that a
stream can be sent to several receivers without multiplying the bandwidth on the sender's side. During
multicast transmission the bandwidth of sender is always the same as the bandwidth of one single receiver.
Multicast transmission allows to efficiently transmit data to several receivers at the same time. Therefore a
particular multicast address is used. In Internet protocol version 4 (IPv4) the address range 224.0.0.0 to
239.255.255.255 is reserved.
You can set up following settings for multicast transmission for the streams 1 – 5 of the network camera.
