6.1 Positioning of smoke detectors
The smoke detector will surveil an area of up to 60 m² at a maximum
room height of 6 m. Rooms with an area of more than 60 m² require
multiple smoke detectors.
According to standard DIN 14676, smoke detectors should be mounted
on the ceiling, preferably in the middle of the room, with a distance of at
least 0,5 m to all furnishings and obstacles (lamps, walls, AC units etc.).
If the detector is mounted in an attic, at a roof angle of
-
up to 20°, handle as with a horizontal roof
-
of more than 20°, mount with a minimum distance of 0,5 m but
not more than 1 m from the apex of the roof.
