KineticoPRO Softener Installation CP 208 - CP 216
I. Preparation
A. The following tools and materials are needed for installation: Phillips screwdriver, crescent wrench, pipe wrench,
pliers, pipe cutter, thread sealant / Teflon tape, ladder or step stool, drain line tubing and water softener salt.
B. Determine location to install equipment. Make sure that the unit will be on a flat surface. Test the water to confirm
unit is properly sized for installation. If sand/silt or turbidity is present, a separate pre-filter should be installed.
A ladder should be used for all work over head that would be beyond your natural reach. If working continuously
at a height of six feet or more, the appropriate safety devices must be employed.
II. Inspection
III. Turn off Water Supply
IV. Set Equipment in Place
Inspect all packaging for signs of damage. Examine the Tip-Tell indicator to ensure
that no one has tipped the system. If the indicator shows otherwise, refuse the
shipment. If the facility has already received the shipment, do not install the softener
as it will not function properly. In either case, contact your representative for
replacement equipment.
Before you begin, turn off the water that feeds the location where you'll be
conducting the installation.
Caution: water heaters and recirculation pumps may require isolation during
this process to prevent damage. Be sure to discuss with the site manager to
determine the best course of action.
