Adjusting the inclination
Note: You can find the correspond-
ing inclination in the information of
the technical literature or of the man-
ufacturer of your saw chain.
► P. 4, item 5
– Loosen the knurled screw for inclination
adjustment (8).
– Adjust the angle (0°-30°) by inclining the
unit.
• Both sides are adjustable.
– Fix the angle by tightening the knurled
screw for inclination adjustment (8).
Note: The inclination can be set for
both sides. Disassembly for a
change of inclination is not neces-
sary.
Adjusting the grinding depth
Note: You can find the correspond-
ing grinding depth in the information
of the technical literature or of the
manufacturer of your saw chain.
► P. 4, item 6
– Loosen or tighten the setscrew (9).
– Adjust the file height in such a way that 1/
5 of the file diameter lies above the tooth
to be ground.
Adjusting the stop
► P. 4, item 7
– Adjust the stop (10) in such a way that the
file is parallel to the surface to be filed
(cutting member).
• The stop (10) is used as a guide during
the grinding procedure.
– tilting of the file is thus prevented.
Filing
Note: File the teeth from the inside
out.
CAUTION! Product damage! Pay
attention to the sharpening angle. An
incorrect sharpening angle can ren-
der the chain unusable. Always
remove only as little material as pos-
sible and keep the working time per
tooth as brief as possible.
Depth limitation
► P. 4, item 8
Note: The depth limitation distance
(X) determines the chip thickness
during sawing. If the distance is too
low, the depth limitation must be filed
down. The size of the distance can
be found in the technical literature or
requested from the manufacturer of
your saw chain.
Note: Use a saw chain gauge to
deter- mine the corresponding depth
limitation distance.
