Witter MZ55 Instructions De Montage

MATERIALS
A 1 Main Crossbar
C 1 Sidearm.
D 1 Sidearm.
E 2 M12 x 45 x 1.75 Bolts, lock washers, 40 O/D washers and Cage nuts.
F 2 M12 x 50 x 1.75 Bolts, lock washers, 30 O/D washers and Cage nuts.
G 2 M12 x 35 x 1.75 Bolts and Nyloc nuts.
ZE 1 Electrical plate.
Note: This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z11) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball, which
dimensionally conforms to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
FITTING
1. To remove bumper, release fixings inside the wheel arches holding plastic trims, there are two plastic clips in the arch
trims which require removal, release rearward trim clips ( 3 off ) by pulling arch away from body, it should then be
possible to push the trim off the forward fixings by pushing forward on the trim after clips mentioned earlier have been
removed. when wheel trims are removed there is a screw fixing and plastic fixing underneath which need removing.
2. Release all fixings along lower edge of bumper, WARNING there are two screw fixings underneath the number plate
and a plastic block which the bumper needs to slide off.
3. Remove rear light clusters, Pull bumper rearwards releasing it from clips at sides and under light clusters, lift bumper
upwards to release from plastic block under number plate, detach any cables from inside bumper.
4. Remove crash beam also remove horizontal plastic brace from lower bumper supports ,hand to customer ( these will
not be re-fitted )
Assemble 2 forward cage nuts into side arms "C" & "D", loosely attach in forward chassis mountings with fixings "E"

Assemble 2 cage nuts in Crossbar "A" and slide the crossbar inside the chassis rails and loosely attach with fixings "F"
6.
and fixings "G" at rearmost points.
7. Fully tighten all fixings to correct torques, ensuring the assembly is in the correct position vertically and horizontally.
8. For fixed option necks there should be no bumper cut required (removable plate in lower edge of bumper trim 2 plastic
clips), for detachable options with retractable electrical plates a bumper cut is required ( see drawing )
9. Attach neck option.
Recommended torque settings: Grade 8.8 bolts: M8 - 24Nm, M10 - 52 Nm, M12 - 80 Nm, M14 - 130 Nm, M16 - 200
Nm Grade 10.9: M12 – 120Nm, M10 – 70Nm M8- 35Nm
