NOTES ON LOCATIONS
1. Place the outdoor unit on a stable base.
2. Secure sufficient space around the unit for ventilation.
3. The unit should neither be exposed to strong wind nor splash from rain water.
4. Ensure that the drain water is properly drained. Since water will flow from the
drain of the outdoor unit, do not place anything under the unit which must
be kept away from moisture. Lay a drain hose if required. In cold regions,
installation of the drain hose is not recommended as it could be frozen.
5. Keep TV set, radio and alike at least 39.4 inches (1 m) away from the indoor unit.
6. Avoid locations exposed to machine oil vapor, salty air (facing the seashore,

OUTDOOR UNIT INSTALLATION
Before installation,
remove the packing pad
from the outdoor unit.
INSTALLATION DIAGRAM
Provide as much installation space as
possible for efficient air-conditioning.
Caution:
In the area with heavy snowfall, keep at least
10 inches distance between outdoor unit and
ground and / or snow. Avoid snow blocking the
outlet of the outdoor unit. During defrosting
the drain holes in the outdoor unit pan should
always be free and let the water flow thru, if
there is snow blocking the flow of water the
ice will accumulate and damage the unit.

for example), hot spring vapor sulfur gas, muddy water (along a road, for
example), etc. Such substances can cause malfunction of the unit. Also avoid
locations where the unit can be tampered with.
7. Select a location where neither the outgoing air or operating noise annoy
others.
8. Keep the air outlet opening free of any obstacle. This could affect the
performance of the unit and create loud noises.
9. In cold climate area, place outdoor unit at a location not affected by snowfall
or ice (below roof slope of houses, for example). The unit must be installed at
least 10 inches (254mm) above the average snow accumulation in the area.
