Switching Off
Set the controller to 0 to switch off the heating pad. The heat indicator light will switch off.
Auto-off feature
The heating pad switches itself off automatically after about 120 minutes. The heat indicator light then starts
to flash. To switch on the heating blanket again, select the setting 0 and after about 5 seconds, reset the
heating pad to the desired temperature setting.
If the heating pad is no longer used after the timer expires:
• Switch off the heating pad (setting 0),
• Unplug from electrical outlet,
• Disconnect the controller from the heating pad.
Safety System
The heating pad is equipped with a safety system. The electronic sensor technology prevents the entire surface
of the heating pad from overheating by automatically switching off in the event of a fault. If the safety system
switches the heating pad off automatically due to a fault, then the heating indicator light on the controller is
no longer illuminated, even if the heating pad is switched on. Please note that, for safety reasons, the heating
pad should not be used after a fault and must be returned to the service address indicated. Never connect the
defective heating pad to another controller of the same type. This would also result in a permanent shutdown
by the safety system in the controller.
7 Care, Maintenance and Disposal
71 Washing Instructions
Heating Pad
If the heating pad is slightly soiled, use a dampen cloth and some mild detergent, if necessary. Follow these
washing instructions to preserve the softness of the fabric and protect the electrical components: Wash by
hand or as follows in automatic washer using slow agitation and normal spin speed: Fill washer with lukewarm
water. Add minimum amount of all-purpose detergent, agitate to dissolve, measure heating pad before
washing. Add heating pad and soak five minutes. Agitate two minutes. Spin. Fill for cool rinse, agitate one
minute then spin. Dry in automatic dryer on high heat, five minutes only, or line dry. Remove damp heating
pad from dryer, block to original size, and drape to finish drying. Do not use clothes pins. Do not iron your
heating pad. Do not use wringer. Do not dry clean, use dry-cleaning fluids, cleaning solvents or bleach as it
may have a deteriorating effect on the insulation of the heating element.
WARNING
• Disconnect the mains plug. Do NOT pull by the cord.
• Do not reconnect the controller to the heating pad until the control connector and the heating
pad are completely dry. Otherwise there is a risk of electric shock.
• Never switch the heating pad on to help it dry. Otherwise there is a risk of electric shock
Controller
Use a dry, lint-free cloth for controller cleaning and care.
72 Storage
• Let the heating pad cool before putting it away. The heating pad may otherwise be damaged.
• To prevent the heating pad from becoming sharply creased, do not store other objects on top of the
heating pad. The heating pad may otherwise be damaged.
• If you do not intend to use the heating pad for any length of time, store it in the original packaging
in a dry environment and without weighing it down.
• Disconnect the mains connection and the controller from the heating pad to do so.
