Safety
• Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as a
dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will
reduce personal injuries.
• Use good quality industrial gloves. Safety-rated vibration-reduction gloves with low tear resistance are
recommended when core drilling.
• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair and clothing away from
moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
• Check core drills and arbors for damage or defects before use. Damaged drills and arbors should not
be used and must be disposed of.
Important notes
• NEVER use hammer or impact action with diamond core drill bits; this will damage the cutting
edges, increase the risk of jamming and may bend longer arbors and arbor extensions.
• Core drill bits should only be used with drills with safety clutches, with the possible exception of small
core drills.
• Core drills, arbors and extensions are heavy, and core drilling creates a large load for the motor of the
power tool, even at low speed. It is important to consider these factors when selecting a suitable power
drill for the diameter and depth of the hole being drilled. It may be necessary to use the 'stitch' drilling
technique first and then finish with the core drill to make the final cut for the hole.

Remarques :

sicherheitsgeprüfte, vibrationsdämpfende Handschuhe mit geringer Reißfestigkeit empfohlen.
• Tragen Sie geeignete Kleidung. Tragen Sie keine weite Kleidung oder Schmuck. Halten Sie Haare,
Kleidung und Handschuhe fern von sich bewegenden Teilen. Lockere Kleidung, Schmuck oder
lange Haare können von sich bewegenden Teilen erfasst werden.

Wichtige Hinweise
• Verwenden Sie Diamant-Kernbohrer NIEMALS im Hammer- oder Schlagbohrmodus; dies

diese Faktoren bei der Auswahl einer geeigneten Bohrmaschine für den Durchmesser und die Tiefe

anzuwenden und dann mit dem Kernbohrer fortzufahren.

Assembly (Fig. I)
1. Always switch off and disconnect the drill from the power supply before fitting or removing a core drill bit
and arbor.
2. Screw the arbor squarely into the core drill bit, taking care to ensure it is not cross-threaded.
3. If using an arbor extension, fit securely ensuring it is not cross-threaded. Also check that both arbor and
extension are straight.
4. Mount the arbor into the chuck of the power drill.
5. Place the tapered end of the pilot drill into the arbor and lightly tap with a soft-faced hammer or similar
until secure. Do not damage the drill tip by using a hard hammer. Do not use excessive force.
6. Lubricate the arbor shank in accordance with drill manufacturer's recommendations.
7. Ensure the drill has a side handle for complete control whilst core drilling.
Operation
1. Check there are no electric cables or gas or water pipes in the drilling area.
2. Drill a pilot hole first using a masonry drill bit of the same size as the arbor pilot drill. This will create a
channel for the arbor pilot drill bit to follow when core drilling.
3. Ensure the drill is in rotary mode and that hammer action is NOT engaged.
4. Hold the drill squarely to the cutting surface. Ensure the core drill bit is moving before it comes into
contact with the surface, and when withdrawing from the hole.
5. Once drilling has commenced, and the circular channel is created that secures the position of the core
drill, the pilot drill can be removed if desired. Once any plaster or looser masonry has been drilled switch
to hammer action if required (DO NOT use hammer action with diamond core drills).
6. The core drill may become blocked with waste material when drilling through masonry. It is important to
remove this material before continuing (stopping to carry out this procedure will also allow the core drill
to cool down).
Assemblage (Fig. I)

Instructions d'utilisation

a été percé, passez au mode percussion si nécessaire (NE PAS utiliser le mode percussion avec les scies
trépan à diamant).
Aufbau (Abb. I)

mit einem Gummihammer oder ähnlichem fest. Verwenden Sie auf keinen Fall einen gewöhnlichen
Hammer, der könnte die Bohrerspitze beschädigen.
6. Schmieren Sie den Aufnahmeschaft (gemäß den Empfehlungen des Bohrer-Herstellers).
7. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Bohrmaschine über Zusatzgriffe verfügt, damit Sie beim Kernbohren
vollständige Gerätekontrolle haben.
Bedienung
1. Stellen Sie sicher, dass sich im Bohrbereich keine Stromkabel, Gas- oder Wasserleitungen befinden.
2. Bohren Sie zunächst ein Testbohrloch mit einem Steinbohrer der gleichen Größe wie der des
Zentrierbohrers. Dadurch wird ein Kanal geschaffen, dem der Zentrierbohrer beim Kernbohren folgen
kann.
3. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass sich die Bohrmaschine auf Rotationsmodus eingestellt ist und der
Schlagbohrmodus NICHT aktiviert ist.
4. Halten Sie den Bohrer rechtwinklig zur bohrenden Oberfläche. Achten Sie darauf, dass sich die
Bohrkrone bewegt, bevor sie mit der Fläche in Berührung kommt und wenn sie aus der Öffnung
herausgezogen wird.
5. Sobald der Bohrvorgang begonnen hat und ein kreisförmiger Kanal entstanden ist, der die Position des
Kernbohrers sichert, kann der Zentrierbohrer auf Wunsch entfernt werden. Sobald der Putz oder das
lockere Mauerwerk durchbohrt ist, kann bei Bedarf auf den Schlagbohrmodus umgeschaltet werden
(Verwenden Sie bei Diamantbohrern NIEMALS den Schlagbohrmodus).

NOTE: Never use force which will cause the core drill to vibrate; allow the drill to do the work and set the
work rate, this will prolong the life of the drill bit, produce a smoother cut, and reduce the risk of jamming.
Disassembly
1. After use, the core drill bit can be very hot; take care when removing.
2. Use the wedge-shaped edge of an ejector drift, through the central hole of the arbor, to push the pilot
drill out (Fig. II). The ejector drift may need to be struck lightly on its flat end with a soft-faced hammer or
mallet to push the pilot drill bit out.
Note: The ejector drift may also help while fitted through the arbor hole, to hold the arbor while the core
drill is unscrewed. Alternatively, arbors have two flat sides for securing with a spanner, or in a vice, when
unscrewing core drills.

6. La scie-trépan peut être bloquée par des résidus lors du perçage de la maçonnerie. Il est important
d'enlever ces résidus avant de continuer (s'arrêter pour effectuer cette procédure permettra également à
la scie-trépan de refroidir).
Remarque : ne jamais utiliser une force qui ferait vibrer la scie-trépan. Laissez la scie-trépan faire le travail,
afin de prolonger la durée de service du foret, d'obtenir une coupe plus nette et de réduire le risque de
blocage.
Désassemblage
1. Après utilisation, la scie-trépan peut être très chaude ; faites attention lorsque vous la retirez.
2. Utilisez un chasse-cône, à travers le trou central du porte-trépan, pour faire sortir le foret pilote (Fig. II). Il
peut être nécessaire de frapper légèrement sur l'extrémité plate du chasse-cône avec un marteau ou un
maillet à face souple pour faire sortir le foret pilote.
Remarque : le chasse-cône peut également être utile, lorsqu'il est inséré dans le trou du porte-trépan, pour
tenir le porte-trépan lorsque la scie-trépan est dévissée. Les portes trépan ont également deux côtés plats
pour être fixés avec une clé ou dans un étau lors du dévissage des scies trépan.

6. Beim Bohren durch Mauerwerk kann der Kernbohrer durch Abfallmaterial verstopft werden. Es ist

Demontage

leicht auf das flache Ende des Austreibers schlagen, um den Zentrierbohrer herauszudrücken.
Hinweis: Der Austreiber kann auch dazu dienen, den Aufnahmeschaft zu halten, während der Kernbohrer
herausgeschraubt wird. Alternativ dazu haben Aufnahmeschäfte zwei flache Seiten, die es ermöglichen,
den Schaft mit einem Schraubenschlüssel oder in einem Schraubstock zu fixieren, wenn der Kernbohrer
herausgeschraubt wird.
