NOTE: In general the straps (especially the straps over the head) should be tightened so
that they are snug, but at the same time ensure a comfortable fit.
NOTE: The helmet will only provide optimum protection if the chin strap is adjusted and
closed as instructed.
4.5 Visor
The optionally available face shield must be
completely pulled down by the front edge of the
visor until it stops. Lift it up in the reverse order.
The optionally installed eye shield must be
pulled down by both levers at the sides until it
stops. Lift it up in the reverse order whereby it
is only then fixed in position when it noticeably
locks into place.
WARNING: The protective function of the visor and of the eye shield is ensured only in
the end position (final stop, no intermediate position). Improper use of the visors can
lead to serious injury or even death. Damaged visors may no longer be used and must
be replaced immediately.
5. Maintenance directions
The outer layer of the helmet, the plastic parts and the helmet liner must be cleaned
periodically. It is best if the outer layer of the helmet is cleaned after every operation;
this reduces the ability of the dirt to stick. Clean the outer layer of the helmet and the
plastic parts solely with water, a mild plastics cleaner or dishwashing liquid, and a soft
cloth. Rinse visors with water before cleaning and clean them using a mild dishwashing
liquid or similar and a soft cloth.
CAUTION: Do not use any abrasive sponges or similar!
WARNING: Never clean the helmet or visors with solvents, gasoline, acids and similar,
since this can affect the protective function.
5.1 Cleaning the headband cover
It is recommended that, in order to ensure a certain amount of hygiene during
operations, the headband cover is cleaned when necessary. In the textile version,
the headband must be removed as described under point 4.3 and then the cover
removed from the headband by unfastening the Velcro fastener. Both textile parts
are machine-washable at 60°C (warm) (reverse and wash in washing net with mild
