Depending on the

recipe you want to
prepare, choose between
the single or the double filter
basket, and insert it in the
portafilter.
Single wall filter baskets (A15)
(A16), also known as non-pressur-
ized filter baskets, are recommended
for more experienced baristas when
using high quality grinders with fine
espresso grinding capabilities.
Double wall filter baskets (A15a)
(A16a), also known as pressurized
filter baskets, are recommended
when using pre-ground coffee, or
when the grind size is too coarse.

Add ground coffee into
the filter basket. Make sure
to use fine grind specific for
espresso. Refer to point 4 to
adjust the quantity.
Using the provided

Tamper, evenly tamp
the ground coffee inside the
filter. Make sure to be on a
flat surface.
Make sure the tamped

ground coffee is at the
level of the indentation
inside the filter. Adjust dose
if needed.
Insert the portafilter

in the brewing unit.
If it is too hard to insert,
reduce the dose.
Make sure that

the portafilter is locked
securely in the brewing unit.
