W
Perform the following tasks before each use:
1 Switch off the power source and unplug the power plug.
2 Close off the gas supply.
3 Switch off the coolant circuit (optional).
4.1
Equipping the welding torch, Fig. 6
1 Equip the torch neck with a tip adapter, contact tip, and gas nozzle.
4.2
Mounting the welding torch, Fig. 1
1 Insert the positioning pin in the marked hole.
4.3
Setting up the cable assembly
1 Lay out the cable assembly straight.
2 Insert the spiral liner into the wire conduit connector as far as it will go.
4.4
Connecting the cable assembly, Fig. 2
1 Mount the cable assembly in the torch mount.
2 Plug the cable assembly connector into the connecting socket and secure
it with a connection nut.
3 Attach the air blast hose to the anti-spatter injector or to the air blast valve.
If the "air blast" option is not used, seal the connection gas-tight.
4 Connect the shielding gas connector and control lead connector.
5 Connect the coolant supply (blue) and coolant return (red).
4.5
Bleeding the coolant circuit (optional), Fig. 3
1 Place the collection receptacle under the connection for the coolant
return (red).
2 Disconnect the coolant return hose from the cooling unit and hold it over
collection receptacle.
3 Seal the coolant return hose's opening.
4.6
Connecting the extraction hose
► Connect the extraction hose of the fume extraction system to the suction
connector on the cable assembly.
4.7
Connecting the shielding gas and setting the gas volume
1 Select the appropriate shielding gas for the welding task.
2 Briefly open the gas supply valve and close it again to blow out any
contamination at the connector.
4.8
Feed in wire
CAUTION
Risk of injury due to entering the device's work area
There is a risk of injury in the device's work area.
► Check and wear your personal protective equipment.
► Ensure that no-one is in the device's work area when setting it in motion.
1 Cut off a small piece of the start of the wire with a cutter to remove any
burrs.
2 Insert the wire in the wire feeder according to the manufacturer's
instructions.
4.9
Check the extraction volume flow at the fume extraction torch's nozzle, Fig. 7
In conformity with DIN EN ISO 21904, the fume extraction torches have
been labeled on the torch connector. To ensure the minimum volume flow, the
extraction volume flow must be set and checked using an inspection device.
1 Check the label on the respective fume extraction torch's connector to
find the required extraction volume flow at the suction nozzle.
2 Check that the fume extraction torch is correctly connected to the fume
extraction system.

Operation
5.1
Carrying out the welding process
1 Open the shielding gas cylinder.
2 Switch on the power source.
4 Check, clean, and if necessary, replace the welding torch.
5 Check, clean, and if necessary, replace spare and wear parts.
6 Check, clean, and if necessary, replace the cable assembly.
2 Connect the torch neck to the cable assembly using the fastening nut.
Insert the two extraction pieces into each other.
3 Optionally, connect the signal cable of the robot mount to the cable
assembly.
6 Check the coolant's minimum fill level.
► Recommendation: use ABICOR BINZEL coolant from the BTC range.
► To prevent damage to the welding machine, do not use deionized or
demineralized water.
► Purge the coolant circuit the first time the equipment is commissioned and
with every cable assembly replacement.
4 Abruptly open then seal the coolant return hose's opening several times
until the coolant flows into the collection receptacle continuously and
without air bubbles.
5 Reconnect the coolant return hose to the cooling unit.
3 Connect the shielding gas to the welding device as per the
manufacturer's instructions.
4 Adjust the shielding gas volume to the gas nozzle used and the welding
task and save the setting.
3 Press the <zero-current wire feed> trigger on the wire feeder until wire
emerges from the contact tip.
4 Cut off any protruding wire with the side-cutting pliers.
3 Switch on the main switches for the welding power source and fume
extraction system (system specific).
4 Set and check the extraction volume flow value on the fume extraction
system or by using a suitable inspection device for the torch type.
5 Use the inspection device to set the extraction volume flow on the fume
extraction system. Please note that this inspection device is not classed as
measuring equipment.
3 Set the welding parameters.
