6 Assembly and installation
Before you start with the installation: Familiarize yourself with the basic specifica-
tions for assembly as early as possible in advance. See
g 6.3 Preparation.
6.1 Notes on safety
Danger of injury due to leaks
Leaks lead to uncontrolled escape of compressed air and can cause severe in-
juries.
Only use connection seals that are not made of teflon or hemp.

6.2 Planning
6.2.1 Installation conditions
General requirements
• Take the product into account when equalizing potentials in the system.
• Make sure that the product is installed in a manner that protects it from all
types of mechanical loads.
• Make sure that there is sufficient space.

WARNING
Product-specific requirements
• Mounting orientation. See
• Compressed air specifications (material protection). See
• Recommendation: Use oil-free compressed air.

• When using oiled compressed air (not recommended):
– Maximum oil content. See

– Only use oils approved for AVENTICS products.
– Make sure that the oil content remains constant during the entire service
life of the product.

– Never change from oiled to oil-free compressed air.
• Never ground the 24 V side of the supply voltage.
• The product causes high-frequency interference. If there are any sensitive de-
vices in the vicinity of the product, take appropriate interference suppression
measures.
Ambient conditions
• Let the product acclimatize for a few hours before installation. Otherwise wa-
ter may condense in the housing.
• Keep the installation location free from vibration.
• Protect the product from direct sunlight and UV radiation.
• Make sure that there are no ferromagnetic sources near the product (material
protection).
• Avoid increased output pressure tolerances: Make sure that high-frequency
radiation from interference-emitting devices is kept away from the product.

6.2.2 Required accessories, materials and tools
Select material and tools that are suitable for your product configuration. De-

pending on the configuration, you will need further accessories.
Mounting material
Assembly requires the following material, which is not included in the scope of
delivery. Respect dimensions and tightening torques.
• 2x screws
• 2x seals
• 1x silencer
• 1x screw for ground
• 2x tooth lock washer for ground
Tools
• No special tools required.
Accessory parts
• Only use accessories approved by the manufacturer. See g 14. Accessories.
6.3 Preparation

6.3.1 Unpacking and checking the product
1. Check the material number to see if the product matches your order.
2. Check the product for transport and storage damage.
Do not install a damaged product. Return damaged products together with
the delivery documents. See
3. Prepare required accessories, materials and tools.
6.3.2 Notes
• Make sure that the power supply plug is protected against contamination
with a suitable sealing cap until assembly (material protection).
• Make sure that the pneumatic connections are protected against contamina-
tion with a suitable blanking plug until assembly (material protection).
6.3.3 Implementing safety measures
Procedure
1. Do not carry out any work on the system during preparation.
2. Close off dangerous areas.
3. Make sure the system or system part is not under pressure or voltage.
4. Protect the system against being restarted.
5. Allow product and adjacent system parts to cool down.
