FORESTRY CLEARING WITH A BRUSH
SAW BLADE
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU CUT A TREE THAT
IS IN TENSION. IT CAN SPRING BACK TO ITS
NORMAL POSITION BEFORE OR AFTER THE
CUT AND HIT YOU OR THE PRODUCT, AND
CAUSE INJURY.
• Clear an open space at one end of the work area,
and start the work from there.
• Move systematically across the work area.
• Move in a direction that minimizes crossing ditches
and obstacles.
• Move in a direction where the wind causes cut
vegetation to fall into the cleared area.
• Move along slopes, avoiding vertical movement.
Fell a tree to the left
To fell to the left, push the bottom of the tree to the
right.

Apply full speed.

Position the brush saw blade against the tree as
shown in the figure below.

Tilt the blade and forcefully push it diagonally
down to the right. Simultaneously, push the tree
with the blade guard.
Fell a tree to the right
To fell to the right, push the bottom of the tree to the
left.

Fell large trees
Larger trees must be cut from 2 sides.
1.
Examine in which direction the tree will fall.
2.
Apply full speed.
3.
Perform the initial cut on the side of the tree
where it is intended to fall.
4.
Proceed to cut the tree from the other side.
