FITTING
1.
To remove the bumper undo the tip screws (1off each side inside the wheel arch) and plastic push clips ( 2 off each
side one situated in the wheel arch the other at the bottom) "A" class fixings at the wheel arches are similar to the "B"
class.
2.
There are also 2 off fixings to bumper supports located centrally on the lower edge of the bumper.
Remove the rear panel trim inside the boot(2 off "A" class fixings are underneath the plastic cover of the luggage straps)
3.
to reveal 2 apertures (hidden behind patches of self adhesive underseal on "B" class) there are 2 off nuts with fixed
washers inside the back panel on long bolts, remove nuts carefully from long bolts.
4.
Remove trim to access the rear light clusters undo 2 off fasteners each side and unplug cluster before removing.
5.
Starting at the wheel arches carefully pull rearward to remove the bumper.
6.
Undo exhaust mountings (1 off each side) and lower the exhaust box to access 6 off fixings holding the heat shield,
remove the heat shield.
7.
Remove the bumper beam held by 4 off fixings (retain for disposal of the customer)
Assemble parts "C" &"D" the cage nuts, retainers and spacers "F" and remove rubber bungs from chassis for fixing

"J" and loosely attach "C" & "D" inside chassis. Spacers "F" are used to pack out from the lip of chassis opening.
Loosely attach the side arms through the chassis to part "E" Reinforcing plates with fixings "G".
9.
Attach main crossbar "A" to "C" & "D" side arms using fixings "H".
10.
There are two different bumper configurations on the "A" class .the standard bumper has a central scalloped section

The "Sport" bumper is lower than the standard there fore the most rearward holes in the centre profiles for the neck are
used and the main crossbar "A" is mounted below the side arms "C" & "D" (see Diagram)
12.
NOTE: Seal edges of side arms to rear panel to prevent water ingress into the chassis openings.
13.
Fully tighten all fixings to required torques.
14.
Replace the bumper, Attach chosen neck and Electrical plate. (No Bumper cut required)
Recommended torque settings: Grade 8.8 bolts: M8 - 24Nm, M10 - 52 Nm, M12 - 80 Nm, M14 - 130 Nm, M16 - 200
Nm Grade 10.9: M12 – 120Nm, M10 – 70Nm M8- 35Nm
