FITTING
1. If a spare wheel is present, removing the hook bracket on the chassis cab may be required. Lower the spare wheel until
the Sidearms (D) are fully tightened into position.
2. Loosening the step and adjusting it's height may be required on some vans to ease fitment.
3. On vehicles which have a stiffener between the chassis: Remove the stiffener (M10 fixings) and drill the two rearmost
holes on each side to accommodate the M12 fixings (X) that are used to attach the Sidearms (D) to the chassis. Re-fit the
stiffener along with the Sidearms (D) using fixings (X) and the M10 fixings from the forward-most holes.
4. Note: Washer plates (E) & (F) are only required on twin rear wheel vehicle and are fitted as shown below.
5. Loosely attach Sidearms (D) to vehicle chassis using fixings (X), using the square washers in the two regions where
multiple holes are present.
6. Loosely attach Crossbar (A) to Sidearms (D) using Bolts (Y) in the correct position for the vehicle (see diagrams below).
Note: Crossbar may be rotated by 180 degrees to alter coupling height by 45mm.
7. Check the alignment of the Crossbar (A) before fully tightening all bolts.
8. Re-position the spare wheel (if present) using the large hole in the Sidearm (D) for the hook.
9. Fully tighten all fixings to the correct torque setting. When fitting towball ensure backing plates (Z) are fitted on
forward face of faceplate to cover hole.
Note: This towbar must be used a Class A50-1 or A50-X/S towball dimensionally conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value
greater than or equal to the calculated vehicle/trailer 'D'. May also be used F40 Towball and also Adjustable Coupling Z52B
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: M14 - 150 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm (Grade 8.8)... M12 - 130 Nm (Grade 10.9)
