Witter DT148 Instructions De Montage

MATERIALS:
A 1 Crossbar
B 2 Sidearm
C 2 Sidearm Angles
D 2 Stiffener Arm
E 2 Stiffener Angle
F 2 Under Run Bracket
V 8 M12 x 40mm x 1.75mm Bolts, Nyloc Nuts and Flat Washers
W 4 M12 x 35mm x 1.25mm Bolts and Lockwashers
X 8 M12 x 35mm x 1.25mm Bolts, Lockwashers and Flat Washers
Y 6 M14 x 40mm x 2.0mm Bolts and Nyloc Nuts
ZP 1 10mm Coupling Packer
CB 2 M16 x 50mm Coupling Bolts, Nuts, Lock Washers (not shown)
ZE 2 Electrical Plate ZEP35 (not shown)
FITTING:
1. Ensure Chassis Rails and Threads are clean and free of debris. Remove towing eye bracket from the Chassis.
2. On vehicles pre-2016 with under-run - Remove bolts securing the under-run bar to the chassis rails. Remove the
under-run bar from its brackets (return brackets to customer), retaining bolts for re-attachment to parts F (see below).
3. Loosely attach Sidearm Angles (C) to the bottom face of chassis using fixings (X), and then loosely attach Sidearms (B) to
the inner face of chassis using fixings (W). Loosely bolt Sidearms and Sidearm Angles together using fixings (V).
4. On Coil Sprung vehicles 2016 on – Loosely attach Stiffener Arms (D) and Stiffener Angles (E) to the Sidearm Assembly
using the remainder of fixings (V) & then loosely attach to the bottom face of the chassis using the remainder of fixings (X).
5. Loosely attach Crossbar (A) to Sidearms (B) using fixings (Y) using the fitting guide below.
6. On vehicles pre-2016 with under-run – Attach Under Run Brackets (F) to Sidearms (B) using fixings (Y & V). Attach the
Under Run Bar to Brackets (F) using existing fixings (see below).
7. Fully tighten bolts. Coupling packer (B) should be used when towball is fitted to lower set of holes.
Note: This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z11) or Class A50-1 or A50-X towball dimensionally
Conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: M12 - 95 Nm, M14 - 150 Nm, M16 - 214 Nm
